EXCLUSIVE– Glen Basner’s FilmNation has closed a raft of international pre-sales in Cannes with Oren Peli’s untitled genre pic, which the outfit is fully financing.

In less than a week, FilmNation has inked deals for the pic with Optimum Releasing in the U.K., the Brit arm of Gaul’s StudioCanal, Village Roadshow in Australia and Swen in Latin America.

Other deals include Russia (Top Film), Scandinavia (Svensk), Middle East (Italia), Portugal (Lusomundo), Greece (Odeon), Switzerland (Ascot Elite) and Iceland (Sam Film).

“Paranormal Activity” creator Oren Peli is producing the new pic with Brian Witten.

Story follows a group of friends who are stranded in a ghost town and soon discover that they are not alone.

CAA and Linda Lichter represent North American rights on the pic.

Basner noted that the flood of pre-sales on the project were reflective of the buoyancy of the current Cannes market.

“When there’s excitement in the marketplace it accelerates dealmaking,” he told Variety.

Basner said that Relativity’s “The Brothers Grimm: Snow White” was getting good biz and the outfit was close to closing a number of “big” deals within the next few days.

Other pics on the FilmNation slate include “Lola Versus,” toplining Greta Gerwig, Jeff Nichols’ “Take Shelter” and Pedro Almodovar’s competish entry “The Skin I Live In.”
