Paramount gets ‘Crazy’

Par teams up with Indian Paintbrush for Doremus pic

Park City– Paramount Pictures has teamed up with billionaire Steven Rales’ film financing-production arm Indian Paintbrush and snapped up rights to Drake Doremus’ “Like Crazy,” following Saturday’s world preem.

Par has worldwide acquistion rights with Indian Paintbrush co-financing. Deal was made for $4 million with a P&A commitment of under $10 million, sources say.

Bizzers were circling the project throughout the night here in Park City before a deal was brokered by Par’s Adam Goodman and acquisitions exec Matt Brodie and Indian Paintbrush’s Mark Roybal and the UTA team, which was repping the pic.

Film screened simultaneously in L.A. with Par’s Mark Evans attending. The Weinstein Co. were among the other buyers circling the project starring Brit thesp Felicity Jones, Anton Yelchin and indie “it” girl Jennifer Lawrence.

Pic is screening here at Sundance in the U.S. dramatic competish and follows two young college students who meet in L.A. and fall in love.
