London-based sales and financing outfit Intandem Films has joined forces with L.A.-based shingle Mary Alice Prods. to finance, produce and sell a slate of pics in the $20 million-$40 million range.
First two pics from the slate include “Section 8” and “X-Treme Mission,” with Josh Duhamel in talks to star in both.
“Section 8” is a $27 million U.S.-based comedy to be produced by Penny Marshall and helmed by “Princess Diaries” director Scott Marshall.
“X-Treme Mission 3D,” a $40 million action pic, is part of a planned trilogy with Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson.
Other films in the agreement include “Love by a Knockout,” a $30 million comedy from producer Mark Lipsky.
All three pics are penned by Gerald Henderson, founder and owner of Mary Alice.
Mary Alice and Intandem will work together in closing and financing the pics, with Mary Alice sourcing the equity and Intandem closing pre-sales and gap finance.
Mary Alice owns the rights to 14 completed screenplays, and aims to produce 10 pics over the next five years that will see Intandem serve as exec producer and sales entity on each.
