Greenaway falls for off-beat romance

'4 Storms and 2 Babies' in helmer-scribe's future

Peter Greenaway is set to helm and pen his first romantic comedy, “4 Storms and 2 Babies.”

Pic is produced by Mike Downey and Sam Taylor’s London-based Film & Music Entertainment and Kees Kasander’s Dutch shingle Kasander Film.

It is skedded to lense in Amsterdam after Greenaway completes “Goltzius and the Pelican Company,” which is in pre-production in Rotterdam and Croatia.

“4 Storms” is an unconventional love story about two men and a woman who becomes pregnant after a night of three-way sex with them.

Pic comes out of the longterm production deal between F&ME and Kasander unveiled in October, which is expected to be worth more than $17.5 million in production spend.

Speaking about “4 Storms,” Downey said, “The premise is both simple and strong: Three people with different needs and beliefs all of whom are able to help the others on a journey of self discovery.”

Kasander, who has worked with Greenaway on 12 features, likened the helmer’s newest effort to his 1988 pic “Drowning by Numbers.”

F&ME is also joining forces with Dutch shingle Spring Film to produce “Snow White,” a Manila-set film that examines the underbelly of child prostitution in the capital of the Philippines.

Pic is helmed by Jacco Groen and begins lensing on April 2.

F&ME has two pics in the Berlinale — Method Man starrer “The Mortician,” which is screening in Panorama and being shopped by AV Pictures, and docu “Street Kids United,” screening in youth sidebar Generation.
