LONDON — Freestyle Releasing has snapped up U.S. distribution rights to Nick Broomfield’s docu “Sarah Palin — You Betcha!,” which is world preeming at the Toronto Film Festival on Sept. 11.

Docu, for which the Brit helmer raised more than $30,000 on crowd-funding site Kickstarter, is an expose of former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin and is skedded to open on Sept. 30 in New York and L.A. before rolling out to additional markets in the following weeks.

Additional funding for the pic was provided by private investors to sustain the film’s expansion.

Cassian Elwes negotiated the deal on behalf of the filmmakers with Freestyle’s co-prexy Susan Jackson.

Content Film represents international rights on the project, except for U.K. TV rights, which belong to Channel 4, and will be shopping it to buyers in Toronto.

Broomfield helms the pic with Joan Churchill, while “Battle for Haditha’s” Marc Hoeferlin produces.

Docu chronicles Broomfield’s quest to unveil the “real” Sarah Palin and follows the filmmaker as he travels to Alaska in mid-winter to speak to the school friends, family and Republican colleagues who knew the ex-hockey mom.
