Exclusive Media Group has come on board with Cross Creek Pictures to co-finance director Ron Howard’s racing drama “Rush.”

Deal was announced Friday during the Toronto Film Festival, where international sales are being handled. Friday’s also the start of shooting.

Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Brühl are in negotiations to star with Alexandra Maria Lara. The script was penned by Morgan.

Story focuses on the rivalry between James Hunt (Hemsworth) and Niki Lauda (Brühl) and their Formula 1 racing teams, McLaren and Ferrari.

Shooting will take place in and around Formula 1 tracks in Silverstone in the U.K. and Nürburgring in Germany.

“Rush” is also produced by Imagine Entertainment, Working Title and Revolution Films, with Howard, Cross Creek’s Brian Oliver, Brian Grazer, Eric Fellner, Peter Morgan and Andrew Eaton as producers. Exclusive’s Nigel Sinclair and Guy East will exec produce; Tobin Armbrust and Imagine’s Todd Hallowell will also exec produce.

Exclusive Films International, under East and Alex Walton, will also handle international distribution. A deal for U.S. distribution has not yet been announced.
