A slew of Brits, including model-thesp Agyness Deyn and Richard Coyle (“Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time”), have joined the cast of “Pusher,” an English-language remake of the 1996 Danish thriller.
Bronson Webb (“The Tudors,” “Robin Hood”) and Paul Kaye (“Match Point”) also star in the pic, produced by Embargo Films and Vertigo Films, the producer-distrib behind Gareth Edwards’ indie hit “Monsters.”
Spain’s Luis Prieto directs the pic, which begins lensing this month in Blighty.
Pic, which Variety first reported was in the works for Vertigo (Daily Variety, Aug. 11), follows a big-time drug pusher in London who becomes consumed by his dangerous and violent trade.
Vertigo’s Rupert Preston and Embargo’s Chris Simon and Felix Vossen are producing; Nicolas Winding Refn, helmer of the original Danish version, exec produces.
Gaumont Intl. is handling international sales for “Pusher.”
