Park City– Alliance Films has inked a first-look deal with Rhombus Media off the back of its previous collaborations on pics such as Sundance world preem “Hobo With a Shotgun,” “The Red Violin” and “Blindness.”
This gives producer Niv Fichman’s shingle access to Alliance’s distribution pipeline which encompasses Momentum Pictures in Blighty and Spain’s Aurum Productions.
Alliance Films will release “Hobo With a Shotgun” in Canada and Blighty, which stars Rutger Hauer (“Blade Runner”) and Gregory Smith (“The Patriot,” “Everwood”), and is set to debut at Sundance’s Midnight at Park City section.
TF1 is handling international sales for the pic and Magnolia Pictures will release the pic domestically.
Alliance Films has made a number of acquisitions in advance of Sundance on pics such as Dito Montiel’s “The Son of No One,” starring Channing Tatum and Al Pacino for Canada and Spain (Aurum), Andre Oderval’s “The Troll Hunter” for Canada and Blighty (Momentum Pictures), Brendan Gleeson starrer “The Guard” for Canada and Rob Minkoff’s “Flypaper” for Spain (Aurum).
