Among this year’s Golden Globe-winning pics, the biggest box office beneficiaries will likely be films that have already been riding high at the multiplexes.

But Sony Pictures Classics’ “Barney’s Version,” could also see a boost thanks to its Globe win for Paul Giamatti in the actor, musical or comedy, category. “Barney” launched Friday at four engagements in New York and L.A. after a brief awards qualifying run in 2010.

“Black Swan” and “The King’s Speech,” both of which nabbed lead acting kudos, are at the height of their theatrical runs. Fox Searchlight’s “Black Swan,” whose domestic cume stands at an estimated $75 million through Monday, is playing nationwide at 2,328 locations, while the Weinstein Co.’s “The King’s Speech,” with $46.7 million, expanded this weekend to 1,543.

The limited bow for “Barney’s Version” tallied $85,241 through Monday for a sturdy per-screen average of $21,310. SPC plans to open the pic in most of the major markets in the next few weeks and expand in February.

Other pics with the potential for heightened post-Globes awareness include Paramount-Relativity Media’s “The Fighter,” which scored supporting trophies both for Christian Bale and Melissa Leo, and Sony’s big winner “The Social Network,” still playing at 322, down from last week’s expansion to 603. Domestic totals for “The Fighter” stand at $128.3 million; “The Social Network,” $94.8 million.

Most studios reported four-day estimates on Sunday, while others waited to see how the weekend actually played out, since Monday estimates can fluctuate depending on how the previous day fared.

Globes wins could boost ticket sales for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, with the kudocast fresh on auds’ minds and auds out of work and school.

Last year, Globes pic winners “Avatar” and “The Hangover” hardly needed B.O. boosts. Searchlight’s Globes-annointed “Crazy Heart,” which stood to benefit most from last year’s awards season, waited until after Oscar noms to expand.In anticipation of this year’s Globes, Searchlight added more than 700 locations for “Black Swan,” while Weinstein upped “The King’s Speech” from 758 to 1,543. “We’re finding from the exit polls that word of mouth is really picking up,” noted Weinstein chief operating officer David Glasser. “We’re having a lot of fun with the film and hopefully will continue the awards roll.”

“The King’s Speech” could see an even bigger boost in the U.K., with BAFTA noms announced today. Pic has grossed $16 million there, more than Blighty’s entire gross for “The Queen.”

After Annette Bening’s Globes win, “The Kids Are All Right,” one of 2010’s top specialty releases with $20.8 million, could see increased interest for the homevid release, which kicked off Nov. 9.
