Carlos Moreno

Moreno’s first two pics, “Perro come perro” and “All Your Dead Ones,” debuted at the Sundance Film Festival, quite a feat for a newcomer. Both have won a raft of awards. His third pic, “El cartel,” is a much-anticipated action mafia pic based on the hit TV skein. Moreno co-directed last year’s box office champ, soccer docu “One, the Story of a Goal.” He’s now prepping “On With the Music,” based on Andres Caicedo’s best-selling novel.
Danna Garcia

Garcia makes her feature debut in helmer Pitipol Ibarra’s upcoming Colombian/Mexican romantic comedy “Heaven in Your Eyes” but she’s been acting since age 4. The Maybelline and Garnier Nutrisse spokesmodel made the coveted 50 Most Beautiful People list twice in People en Espanol. She played the lead in nearly all the 18 TV productions among her credits. Garcia also lent her voice to “Barbie” in the Spanish dubbed version of “Toy Story.”
Diego Cadavid

Cadavid not only has more than half a dozen pics and 20 skeins to his credit, but is also an established fashion photographer and plays the drums for hugely popular Colombian rock band, the Mills. Usually cast as a romantic lead, he plays against type in upcoming horror thriller “Blind Alley,” the feature debut of “Pan’s Labyrinth” scribe Antonio Trashorras.
Jaime Osorio

French film school-educated Osorio cut his directing teeth in short films and theater while in France. Upon his return to Colombia in 2000, Osorio directed TV commercials, winning a string of awards. In the past two years, he’s been making commercials for Colombia’s Rhayuela Cine and Los Sopranos in Venezuela. His debut feature, “El paramo,” opens in October in Colombia.
Alexander Giraldo

His studies in music, social communication, art history and film plus a string of award-winnning shorts and musicvideos, have primed Giraldo for his feature debut “180 Seconds.” Giraldo hails from Cali, Colombia — which has spawned several interesting filmmakers of late — where he teaches film at the Universidad Autonoma de Occidente.
