Four of the best pic noms are based on real people, more

“Toy Story 3” screenwriter Michael Arndt received his soph nomination for his second produced screenplay, after having won for “Little Miss Sunshine.”

Eight of the 10 best pic contenders are repped in at least one acting race. The exceptions: “Inception” and “Toy Story 3.”

The 20 actors nominated this year include three Aussies (Geoffrey Rush, Nicole Kidman, Jacki Weaver), three Brits (Colin Firth, Helena Bonham Carter, Christian Bale), a Spaniard (Javier Bardem) and one nominee born in Israel (Natalie Portman).

Four of the best pic noms are based on real people: “The Fighter,” “The King’s Speech,” “127 Hours” and “The Social Network.”

Among the notable differences this year: Meryl Streep and John Williams were not nominated. They’re ALWAYS nominated.
