Hulu Plus will offer its TV shows and selection of movies on Microsoft’s Xbox 360 videogame consoles starting Friday, with navigation possible using the Kinect motion sensor.
Service will be available to Xbox Live members for $8 a month. Current Hulu Plus subscribers will be able to access the video offerings for free as long as they are Xbox Live members.
More than 30 million people have created Xbox Live accounts. Microsoft has sold 50 million Xbox 360 consoles to date. Earlier this year, Hulu CEO Jason Kilar said Hulu Plus will reach 1 million paying customers by the end of 2011 and generate revenue of more than $200 million.
As a promo, Hulu Plus will be available for free for a week through May 6, paid for by Jack Link’s Beef Jerky.
Launch didn’t occur until now so the companies could perfect compatibility with the Kinect motion sensor.
