NBC Apologizes to Bachmann

The campaign of Michele Bachmann says that NBC apologized for the incident on Monday in which the presidential candidate walked on the set of “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” to the tune “Lyin’ Ass Bitch.”

Bachmann spokeswoman Alice Stewart told the Asoociated Press that NBC’s vp for late night programming, Doug Vaughan, sent a personal letter to Bachmann expressing regret and saying that the incident was “not only unfortunate but also unacceptable,” and that the band would be “severely reprimanded.” Fallon and Bachmann also spoke on the phone, and Stewart said that the late night host “was extremely nice and friendly and offered his apology, and she accepted it.”

The apology also was covered this morning on NBC’s “Today.”
