BERLIN — MPI Media Group, L.A.-based XYZ Films and Pellicola of Amsterdam have entered into a co-production deal for helmer-scribe Richard Raaphorst’s “Frankenstein’s Army.”

MPI/Dark Sky Films will distribute the pic in North America.
Set at the end of World War II, pic follows Russian soldiers who find the journal of Dr. Frankenstein in a secret Nazi lab they uncover as they push into eastern Germany.
The soldiers use his work to assemble an army of super soldiers stitched together from the body parts of their fallen comrades.
Pellicola’s Nick Jongerius and Daniel Koefoed will produce with XYZ Films’ Todd Brown. Nate Bolotin, Aram Tertzakian and Nick Spicer of XYZ Films will serve as exec producers.
Deal was negotiated by MPI exec VP Greg Newman, Bolotin and Koefoed.
