Holland harmonizes with ‘Sing-Off’

Sony Pictures Television format nabs 17.4% share

The first non-U.S. edition of Sony Pictures Television format “The Sing-Off,” renewed for a third season by NBC in the U.S., appears to be turning into a ratings bonanza for Dutch web SBS6.

Bowing in Holland on Saturday night, the show, produced by Sony production affiliate Tuvalu, delivered an impressive 1.2 million viewers, a 17.4% share.

In the past year only two shows have averaged more than 1 million viewers in this timeslot for SBS6, a sports event and the “Pop Stars” final.

“The Sing-Off” nabbed pole position in the adult 20-49 demo despite tough competition from rival webs broadcasting “Everybody Loves Raymond” and reality skein “All You Need Is Love.”

Sony Pictures TV’s formats arm, 2WayTraffic, will be offering it at the Mip TV sales mart in Cannes, which opens April 4.
