LONDON — Brit thesp Hayley Atwell has joined the cast of “I, Anna,” alongside Gabriel Byrne and Charlotte Rampling.
Atwell, whose credits include Woody Allen’s “Cassandra’s Dream,” “Brideshead Revisited” and the upcoming “Captain America: the First Avenger,” will play Emmy, the daughter of Rampling’s eponymous character Anna.
Pic, the debut feature from helmer-scribe Barnaby Southcombe, is a noir thriller told from the point of view of a femme fatale who falls for the detective in charge of a murder case.
Southcombe’s script is based on the novel of the same name by Elsa Lewin.
Pic is produced by Felix Vossen and Christopher Simon (“The Proposition”), Michael Eckelt (“Eyes Wide Open”) and Ilann Girard (“Lebanon”). Jo Burn (“Green Zone”) is co-producing the pic, which wrapped this weekend following a five-week shoot in and around London and one week in Hamburg.
Artificial Eye will release the pic in Blighty, NFP/Warner Bros. will release in Germany and ABC/Cinemien will distribute the pic in Benelux.
Bavaria Film Intl. is handling international sales.
