Sierra/Affinity will represent international sales on helmer-scribe Jon S. Baird’s dark comedic thriller “Filth,” based on the novel by Irvine Welsh (“Trainspotting”).

The adaptation’s being produced by Ken Marshall through Steel Mill Pictures. Will Clarke is exec producing.

Sierra/Affinity made the announcement Friday at Cannes. Lionsgate will release the film in the U.K., with Icon distributing in Australia.

“Filth” is centered on an Edinburgh police detective as he manipulates everyone in his path to secure a promotion and win back his wife and daughter.

Marshall and Paul Andrew Williams formed Steel Mill Pictures in 2006 when they produced “London to Brighton.” They’ve since completed “The Cottage” and “Cherry Tree Lane.”
