TAIPEI — Malaysian 3D toon “SeeFood” has signed a flurry of distrib pacts at the Cannes Market.

Deals are worth more than $2 million and cover over half the world’s population, Hong Kong sales company Golden Network Asia said.

The $8.5 million toon about a shark saving his family from poachers is a co-production between Malaysia’s Silver Ant and Qatar’s Al-Jazeera Children’s Channel, and was previously sold to China Lion and Bona Film for China.

Golden Network Asia pre-sold the pic to Wild Side in France, Splendid in Germany, Kino Swiat in Poland and Duka Film in Turkey.

Other territories sold included MT Entertainment of Indonesia, K&Entertainment in South Korea, Select Media Holdings for India, California Filmes in Latin America, and Luxor in Russia and former CIS regions.
