The U.S.’ Hispanic population continues to grow faster than any other ethnic group, as reflected in the latest Nielsen Media data on household estimates for the new TV season.

According to the ratings service, 40% of the new homes in the sample are Hispanic, with growth among Hispanic households (a little over 3% year to year) far surpassing percentages for whites, African-Americans and Asians.

Based on these figures and growth rates, the U.S.’ Hispanic population (as measured by homes) should surpass the African-American population in the next three years.

Just don’t tell anyone in Arizona.
