Times Piece Brings Stewart, Fox News Together

Thought for the day: Jon Stewart and Fox News Channel have found one thing they can agree on: Brian Stelter’s state-the-obvious New York Times piece about “The Daily Show” host’s criticism of the cable channel wasn’t really worth commenting on. What was left was a sort of greatest hits rehashing some of the shots Stewart has taken at FNC this year, without any real point or purpose to it. Sure looked like a piece that some clueless editor compelled the reporter to do.

Still, I sort of wish that Fox had stuck with its usual irascible style and said something more in character, like, “The only media outlet with less of an audience than the struggling New York Times might be Jon Stewart, who is watched by fewer people than dirty Adult Swim cartoons and Jimmy Kimmel.

“We wish you both well.”
