Once again ensuring that the interviews will be limited to “Who are you wearing?,” ABC’s Oscars pre-show has tapped “The View’s” Sherri Shepherd, Kathy Ireland and Entertainment Weekly’s Jess Cagle to host its red-carpet arrival telecast.

Under this scenario, Cagle becomes the Obi-wan Kenobi of interviewers, as in, “Help me, you’re our only hope.”

Meanwhile, TV Guide Network announced that actress Vivica A. Fox will join Carrie Ann Inaba and Chris Harrison on its pre-show coverage. In other words, more actors and dancers and TV hosts who will tell everyone how great they look, and nobody who’s accustomed to actually conducting interviews.

I understand that these things are all about fashion, but as I asked “Access Hollywood’s” Billy Bush on his radio show after another bubbly performance at the rain-soaked Golden Globes (Bush took exception at my characterization of his work), would it be too much to ask at least one question about the actual movies for which these people are nominated?
