Both hires come from outside. Singh, who will wear VP stripes, arrives at UCP from Disney Channel, where she was director of development for original movies. Her resume at the Mouse House includes telepics such as “High School Musical,” “Camp Rock” and “Cheetah Girls.”
Fung, who was named a director and will work on sci-fi drama “Eureka,” is set to report to Chris Sanagustin. She arrives from the yet-to-launch Oprah Winfrey Network and Regency Television.
Singh, who will have “In Plain Sight” and upcoming Sarah Shahi series “Fairly Legal” on her docket, will report to Richard Rothstein. Sanagustin and Rothstein are senior VPs in development and current programming.
“Reena and Stacy are important additions to our studio,” said Rothstein and Sanagustin in making the announcement. “They both have experience, energy and taste, and their skills and expertise compliment our successful and expanding development teams.”
In other staffing news, UCP promoted Stephanie Albrycht to manager of development and current programming, and Brad DeLima was promoted to manager of casting for UCP, USA Network and Syfy.
UCP is the production home for several USA Net series, including “Royal Pains” and “Covert Affairs,” as well as Syfy skeins “Eureka,” “Warehouse 13” and “Caprica.” Studio has recently upped its slate of non-Universal shows, such as upcoming MTV pilot “I Just Want My Pants Back” and Lifetime police procedural pilot “Against the Wall.”
