‘Strongest Man’ producer plays ‘Golf’

IMG Sport Media will debut sports series Feb. 8

“World’s Strongest Man” producer IMG Sport Media is hitting the links for its next production, “Golf World.”

The 90-minute series, which bows Feb. 8, and will air five nights a week, is described as a magazine show for golf enthusiasts that will cover news, interviews, documentaries, tournament updates, resort reviews and instructional content.

Shows will run 48 weeks of the year.

IMG Sports Media will distrib the show globally, and has ties with Sports News Television and European Tour Prods, a joint venture between IMG and the European Tour.

“We have a clear understanding of the market and recognize the specific needs of broadcasters globally who regularly schedule live golf programming,” said Michel Masquelier, prexy of IMG Media. “IMG’s global position in golf across client management, event management, golf course development, sponsorship sales, relationships with governing bodies, licensing, vast media archive, production capabilities and market knowledge mean we have all the tools and access necessary to create high quality programming which no other organization can provide.”

IMG’s golf division owns or produces 40 tournaments worldwide, as well as golf academies.
