Helmer Rob Schiller has signed on to direct two of CMT’s upcoming comedy pilots.
Schiller will direct both “The 30 Percent,” from scribe Peter Knight, and “Working Class,” from Jill Cargerman.
“The 30 Percent” and “Working Class” rep two of the four laffers that CMT recently greenlighted as 15-minute pilot presentations. Cabler is aiming at ordering two of the four to series.
Schiller’s credits include spending nine years as exec producer and director on “The King of Queens.” He has also directed episodes of series including “Two and a Half Men” and “Ellen,” and just wrapped principal photography on the feature “And They’re Off.”
“Working Class” stars Melissa Peterman as a mother who stretches beyond her means in order to move her family into a wealthy neighborhood. And “The 30 Percent” centers on a family that must adjust their lifestyles by cutting their expenses by 30 percent.
The other two pilots in the works at CMT are “The Hard Life” and an untitled project from David Litt.
