“The King of Queens” star Leah Remini is plotting a sitcom comeback at the Eye.
Remini, who’s a panelist on CBS’ upcoming untitled mommy-centric daytime yakker, has also signed a talent deal with the network.
Under the talent holding and development deal with CBS and sister CBS TV Studios, Remini will look to star in a new scripted comedy project for the Eye.
Deal comes following CBS’ decision last week to pick up the untitled CBS talk show. Daytime strip will be hosted by Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Marissa Jaret Winokur and Holly Robinson Peete, in addition to Remini.
Remini starred in the pilot “It Takes a Village” this spring for ABC (where she previously held a talent deal), but that project ultimately didn’t make it to series.
The thesp is best known for her lengthy run as Carrie Heffernan, opposite Kevin James, on CBS’ “The King of Queens.”
Remini’s other credits include the series “Fired Up” and “First Time Out,” as well as the feature “Old School.”
