NBC reality on rise Tuesday

'Talent,' 'Minute' post big numbers

Aided by the best numbers in weeks for unscripted competition series “America’s Got Talent” and “Minute to Win It,” NBC cruised to a ratings victory on Tuesday. ABC again did well with “Wipeout,” though it was down vs. last week.

According to preliminary nationals from Nielsen, NBC rolled from 9 to 11 p.m. with the “America’s Got Talent” performance show (3.1/9 in 18-49, 10.7 million viewers overall), which hit a six-week high. And earlier, an original hour of “Minute to Win It” (1.8/6 in 18-49, 6.1 million viewers overall) ranked second in demos during the 8 o’clock hour — achieving an 11-week timeslot high for the network.

ABC ran second on the night in demos, led as usual by “Wipeout” (2.7/9 in 18-49, 7.9 million viewers overall), which topped the 8 o’clock hour in all key demos despite a roughly 10% decline week to week. It was followed by “Shaq Vs.” (1.7/5 in 18-49, 4.0 million viewers overall) and “Primetime: What Would You Do?” (1.4/4 in 18-49, 3.6 million viewers overall), both of which also dropped vs. the previous week and ranked second in their hours among adults 18-49.

Fox aired repeats of “Glee” at both 8 (1.5/5 in 18-49, 3.9 million viewers overall) and 9 (1.6/4 in 18-49, 4.0 million viewers overall), up a bit vs. last week; the show will air Tuesdays at 8 in the fall.

And CBS went with encores of its regular Tuesday dramas “NCIS” (1.4/5 in 18-49, 9.2 million viewers overall), “NCIS: Los Angeles” (1.3/4 in 18-49, 7.1 million viewers overall) and “The Good Wife” (1.0/3 in 18-49, 5.0 million viewers overall). Net was fifth among the broadcasters in 18-49 but second in total viewers.
