More ‘Deadliest Catch’ after captains settle with Discovery

Following a tragic turn of events and contentious behind-the-scenes negotiations, “Deadliest Catch” is returning for a seventh season on Discovery.Catch

Show was very much in doubt after Capt. Phil Harris died of a stroke in February. And then last week captains Sig Hansen, Johnathan Hillstrand and Andy Hillstrand said they wouldn’t go forward with the show, but according to the network, production is set to begin in Dutch Harbor, Alaska, next week.

“We’re happy we worked everything out with Discovery. A deal’s a deal. We’re heading up to Dutch Harbor to start filming the new season of ‘Deadliest Catch, and hopefully it will be the best one yet,” said the three in a statement. “Everyone worked really hard on putting together ‘Hillstranded’ and we’re looking forward to wrapping that up. It’s something new that we hope people will enjoy.”

Sequel “Hillstranded” was very much in doubt as well, and Discovery sued the brothers claiming they weren’t living up to their end of the bargain before a deal was reached.
