Debmar-Mercury has named Alexandra Jewett its senior veep of programming and production, overseeing all of the company’s East Coast-based programming.

Key on that list is Debmar Mercury’s syndicated “The Wendy Williams Show.” Jewett, most recently CBS Television Distribution programming and development VP, will also assist in the development of all new Debmar-Mercury projects.

“Alexandra has proven herself to be a very talented television executive who knows what daytime viewers want and, thanks to her award-winning producing skills, how to best deliver results,” Debmar-Mercury exec veep of programming and production Lonnie Burstein said.

With CTD, Jewett helped drive the launch of “The Rachael Ray Show” and the final seasons of “The Montel Williams Show.” She also has past experience as a programming consultant for TLC and exec producer of the cabler’s “Operation Homecoming,” along with exec producing “Rebuilt: The Human Body Shop” for Discovery Health Network.

In 2002, Ms. Jewett launched and executive produced “The John Walsh Show” for NBC Universal. She began her TV career as a producer of Phil Donahue’s syndicated talker.
