Jets-Bengals breaks record for NFL Network

Thanksgiving game is most-watched ever for day

Thursday night’s New York Jets win over the Cincinnati Bengals drew 7.1 million viewers, making it the most-watched Thanksgiving game ever on NFL Network.

Five years ago the league-owned net started telecasting Turkey Day affairs following the traditional games that feature the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys.

Bengals-Jets marked the third-highest turnout ever for a Thursday contest in NFL Network history. First on the list is last year’s Dallas-New Orleans match-up (10.5 million) followed by the Green Bay-Dallas game in 2007 (10.1 million).

Thursday night football is up 37% this year compared to the 2009 season. Next game on the cabler is Houston at Philadelphia Dec. 2.
