Intreatment09_01 HBO’s “In Treatment” will premiere its third season Oct. 25, ending a 17-month hiatus since its season-two finale.

For the third season, HBO is once again revamping the programming schedule: four episodes each week instead of the five from previous seasons, with two airing on Mondays and two on Tuesdays.

Gabriel Byrne is back for the grueling gig as “In Treatment” therapist, with patients played by Debra Winger,  Irrfan Khan (“Slumdog Millionaire,” “The Namesake”) and relative newcomer Dane DeHaan. Amy Ryan has replaced Dianne Wiest as Paul’s own therapist.

Anya Epstein (“Tell Me You Love Me”) and Dan Futterman (“Capote”) joined returning executive producers on the show include Stephen Levinson, Mark Wahlberg and Hagai Levi.
