Dates for the upcoming winter Television Critics Assn. tour are locked, and this time around the cable networks will kick off the two-week confab.
Scheduled for Jan. 5-14 at the Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena, the TCA sessions will begin with two days of cable and PBS presentations before ABC begins the broadcast portion of the press tour Jan. 10.
Fox will fill the Jan. 11 slot, while NBC will offer its wares Jan. 13 before CBS closes out the tour Jan. 14. Sister nets CW and Showtime will share the day with the Eye.
Jan. 12 has been reserved as a studio day, when both local and out-of-town scribes are invited by one or two studios to visit the sets of a handful of shows.
This year’s newsworthy topics include the new midseason series, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler being added as judges on “American Idol,” and how the corporate and programming structure at the Peacock will change following the network’s merger with Comcast.
