Disney and Time Warner Cable have inked a mammoth carriage deal that covers the Mouse House's cablers, four ABC O&Os and gives Time Warner Cable expanded digital and video-on-demand rights to Mouse House programming.
Deal, believed to run at least six years, was unveiled Thursday after months of on-again, off-again negotiations between the sides. The talks grew contentious earlier this summer but in the past week the sides cooled the rhetoric as they made progress at the bargaining table.
Deal also calls for the companies to develop new services, including an ESPN-branded highlights channel.
