HBO throws 'Death' season-two preem party

HBO threw a swanky party for the second-season premiere of “Bored to Death” at the Lower East Side eatery Capitale on Tuesday evening.

Jason Schwartzman held forth on some comparisons of his character to another gumshoe.

“I always liked how Philip Marlowe was kind of a bad guy himself; the bad guys could relate to him. And though we don’t have any bad guys on our show, we have some strange people, and my guy in this is as strange as the strangest people there.”

Asked who his character, a glib sexual libertine, was based on, Ted Danson deadpanned, “Me!

“No, it’s Jonathan Ames,” he corrected. “It comes from his wonderful mind.”
