“The Big Bang Theory” set will be dark for an extra week.Bigbang

Warner Bros.-produced comedy is already on hiatus but production will take Sept. 22-28 off as well following co-star Kaley Cuoco’s leg injury following a horseriding accident. The extra time will give the show’s writers time to determine how to write around Cuoco until she’s able to come back to work.

The extra week off will not affect the on-air dates, though the show will somehow have to make up the time production-wise between now and the spring. Five episodes have already been taped.

CBS made a bold move this fall moving “The Big Bang Theory” to Thursday nights. The new season begins next week.
