A newly launched, revamped ABC online store will allow shoppers to design their own official fan merchandise for purchase.

Change is part of a deal between the Alphabet and CafePress.com announced earlier this year to allow fans to create ABC fan gear and split sales revenue with the net. Using CafePress’ Print-on-Demand services, the custom goods will be made and shipped as needed; ABC won’t have to keep surplus inventory of licensed items.

“ABC can have literally thousands of goods available at any given time, because the goods are only printed when an order is placed,” said Amy Maniatis, CafePress veep of marketing.

With the store redesign, the custom goods will appear side-by-side with the Alphabet’s internally designed merch, giving fan-generated gear more exposure than it received previously on CafePress.com. In addition to managing the manufacturing of custom items, CafePress will also be responsible for the management of non-printed goods, like ABC’s popular “Lost” bobbleheads.
