The World Poker Tour has firmed up timeslots in its renewed deal with Fox Sports Net.
For seasons nine through 11, World Poker Tour will air at 8 and 11 p.m. Sundays, as well as multiple telecasts during the week. In previous seasons, the WPT would air on FSN at sporadic times and poker fans would often have a difficult time locating episodes.
Season nine is set to launch in January. New WPT programming will feature footage from early in tournaments, rather than just final table coverage.
As part of the pact extension, other changes put in place include naming Kimberly Lansing as an anchor, adding an analyst and the inclusion of a new tour stop in Hollywood, Fla.
Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten will continue to offer play by play and commentary.
In other poker programming news, a second season of “PokerStars.net Million Dollar Challenge” will debut Sept. 19. Show, which features poker pros playing celebrities, will air on Fox on Sundays and follow NFL football.
On ESPN, a two-hour edition of “World Series of Poker” is airing Tuesdays. Coverage leads up to November, when the winner of the main event takes home a first-place prize of just under $9 million.
