Service set for columnist Army Archerd

Variety will celebrate the life of columnist Army Archerd starting at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 18 at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills.

Archerd became an industry institution and beloved figure in his more than half a century at Daily Variety.

He died Sept. 8 at age 87 from a rare form of mesothelioma cancer, thought to be the result of his exposure to asbestos in the Navy during WWII. For information on the memorial service, call 323-617-9279 or email armyarcherdmemorial@variety.com.
