After days of speculation, NBC officially announced its plans for the 36th season of “Saturday Night Live” — which kicks off Sept. 25 with guest host Amy Poehler.

Poehler will be joined by musical guest Katy Perry, as well as new “SNL” featured players Vanessa Bayer, Paul Brittain, Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah. Bayer comes to “SNL” following stints at various Chicago comedy venues, including iO, the Annoyance and the Second City. Brittain is also a vet of Chi’s iO. Killam, seen on “Scrubs,” was a main company member of the Groundlings. Standup Pharoah has toured throughout the U.S.

Exiting the show, as previously reported, is Will Forte. Featured player Jenny Slate isn’t expected to return.

“SNL” alum Poehler stars on NBC’s “Parks and Recreation.” But that show won’t be able to benefit from her “SNL” stint — it was held from the fall lineup and remains on the bench to return later in the fall or midseason.
