Ochocinco to play in ‘Tournament’

NFL receiver to star in reality competition for VH1

Chad Ochocinco is looking for a Mrs., NCAA tournament style.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver, formerly known as Chad Johnson, is upping his reality quotient by headlining “The Tournament” for VH1. Show will have Ochocinco traveling the country to meet 85 women who will each face the possibility of elimination via a March Madness bracket. Eventually he will end up on a final “championship” date split between two women before crowning a winner.

Looking to move beyond his sports-centric fan base, Ochocinco — a three-time Pro Bowl player — was recently announced as a contestant on the new season of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.”

Cabler has ordered 10 episodes of “The Tournament,” and an hourlong skein is skedded to launch in July.

“His bigger than life personality on and off the field, and his notorious skills as a social networker, connecting daily with his fans, makes him a perfect fit for VH1,” said Jeff Olde, exec VP of original programming and production.
