They smiled, they sang and they sobbed just a little when Harrison Ford didn’t make it to the Smile Gala 2010 on Friday. It was all to benefit Operation Smile, the charity created 28 years ago Bill and Cathy Magee to provide free medical treatment to children born with cleft lips and palates.
Receiving Ford’s honorary award, wife Calista Flockhart said, “He very much wanted to be here tonight, but making movies has an always-changing schedule.”
Plenty of familiar faces did show up at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, including Garry Marshall, who handed an award to John Stamos, who said, “I know it is my calling to help kids.”
Stamos was then serenaded by “Glee” stars Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz as they belted out “True Colors.”
