If there are awards to be handed out, chances are a few of the “Glee” kids will be on hand. Series co-creators Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan and thesps from the Fox tuner are pulling double-duty Saturday night as they hit the TV Land Awards and the GLAAD Media Awards in the span of about three hours.
“Glee” will be anointed with the “Future Classic” award as part of the 8th annual TV Land Awards, which tapes on the Sony Pictures lot and will air April 25.
The Emmy Awards could pick up a few pointers from TV Land’s kitschy kudocast, which revels in all that is good and geeky about smallscreen fare. Where else would you find Tom Hanks, Peter Scolari, Holland Taylor and Donna Dixon taking part in a 30th-anni salute to “Bosom Buddies”? Tim Allen does the emcee honors for the evening that will include a salute to Farrah Fawcett, an “Everybody Loves Raymond” reunion and a nod to the work of Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner.
From Culver City, the “Glee” express will head to the Century Plaza Hotel for GLAAD’s Los Angeles awards bash, where cast members including Dianna Agron, Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale, Amber Riley and Jenna Ushkowitz are set for an appearance at the ceremony. They may also stick around for the tributes to Wanda Sykes and Drew Barrymore. And the “Glee” gang could wind up making a second trip to the stage as winners in the comedy series heat.
