The Film Society of Lincoln Center begins a retrospective of Clint Eastwood’s directorial work on Friday with Richard Schickel’s docu “The Eastwood Factor.”
The series, which runs through July 27 at the Walter Reade Theater, incorporates all the pics Eastwood has helmed, and key movies he made with two helmers that greatly influenced him: Sergio Leone and Don Siegel.
Richard Pena, program director of the Film Society, got the idea to mount the series after he realized Eastwood turned 80 this year.
“The idea just kind of popped up that a complete retrospective like this hadn’t been done in a very long time and who better than Clint’s pics to really showcase such an event,” Pena said.
Eastwood will take part in a Q&A via Skype following Saturday’s screening of Leone’s “A Fistful of Dollars.”
