CNN has set March 22 as the launch date for John King’s nightly 7 o’clock show, dubbed “John King, USA.” Hourlong is described as “a fresh look at politics in and out of Washington,” with a focus on “issues of the day that matter to average Americans.”
Program is the all-news cabler’s permanent replacement for “Lou Dobbs Tonight,” which ended its run when Dobbs exited the network in November. Since then, CNN has been running a three-hour block of “The Situation Room With Wolf Blitzer” to fill the 7 p.m. hour. CNN said King’s “final dress rehearsal” for the show will be streamed live at noon ET March 19 on CNN.com.
