With all the fanfare of a YouTube video, Conan O’Brien on Wednesday finally unveiled the title to his upcoming TBS talker: “Conan.”

But before settling on the “Conan” title, Team Coco and Turner had to strike a deal with Conan Properties Intl., which actually owned the name for entertainment purposes (used in relation to “Conan the Barbarian”).

But O’Brien and company liked the simplicity of the title over alternatives such as “The Conan O’Brien Show,” and looked to make it work.

“Simple, pure, like the man himself,” O’Brien quipped in a video unveiling the moniker.

Later, O’Brien quipped in a press release, “I’m just using ‘Conan’ and dropping the ‘O’Brien’ because I want to get away from the whole Irish thing.”

“Conan” also happens to be the title that TBS promos had already been using to market the show. Originating from Warner Bros. Studios’ Stage 15, “Conan” bows Monday, Nov. 8 at 11 p.m. on TBS.
