Quincy Jones and Maria Shriver will be honored at next month’s Carousel of Hope gala benefitting the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes.
Jones will receive the org’s Humanitarian laurel for his wide-ranging charitable endeavors over the years. It will also commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Jones-led recording of the charity single “We Are the World.”
Shriver, journo and first lady of California, will receive the Brass Ring award for her work as an advocate for children and family issues, and for spearheading the state’s annual Women’s Conference highlighting prominent femmes in business, politics and philanthropy.
Performers set for the gala, set for Oct. 23 at the Beverly Hilton, including Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez and Gladys Knight. Jay Leno is on board to emcee the event, produced by George Schlatter.
