Gene Simmons will keynote the American Music Conference presented by Variety and Dick Clark Prods. on Friday, Nov. 19, at L.A. Live’s Event Deck.
The one-day conference, which precedes the 38th annual American Music Awards on Nov. 21, will focus on the state of the music label, digital platforms for marketing music to fans and how to align with brands for sponsorship.
Simmons, who co-founded the band Kiss 36 years ago, has seen success in licensing and merchandising with a clothing line, record label and comicbook series in addition to his A&E reality series “Gene Simmons: Family Jewels.”
“The music industry is now constantly brainstorming new strategies to say on top and even ahead of their fans’ demands,” said Variety president Neil Stiles. He said the conference will “offer the tools that will help to keep this business on the cutting edge.”
Added Orly Adelson, president of Dick Clark Prods.: “We are excited to launch the AMC with Variety and are proud to feature the supremely talented Gene Simmons at this inaugural event.”
