HBO is bringing Carrie Fisher’s autobiographical one-woman show “Wishful Drinking” to television.The feature-length special will mix segs of Fisher’s stage show with clips from archived footage of Fisher and interviews with friends and family. The live pieces will be pulled from a taping of her June 25 performance in South Orange, N.J. The documentary is being produced by HBO and World of Wonder Prods. and is inspired by her book of the same name. HBO promises the special will deliver a humorous and dark look at growing up among Hollywood’s elite. World of Wonder Prod’s. Randy Barbato and Fenton Bailey (“Heidi Fleiss: The Would-Be Madam of Crystal”) are directing with HBO documentary chief Sheila Nevins executive producing. “Wishful Drinking” had a successful run on the Main Stem last fall.
