“The Wire’s” Wendell Pierce is set for the indie film, “Four,” based on Christopher Shinn’s London and off-Broadway play.

Movie, which has Neil LaBute exec producing and Christine Giorgio producing, is set to start lensing Sept. 13 in and around Hartford where the play is set. Joshua Sanchez helms based on his own script.

Pierce also stars in HBO’s “Treme” and was in Spike Lee’s “Get Off the Bus,” as well as “Waiting to Exhale” and “Sleepers.”

Shinn’s works include “Dying City,” “What Didn’t Happen,” “Other People” and an adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s “Hedda Gabler,” which played the Rialto’s Roundabout Theater Company last year.

The $500,000 budgeted pic raised development funds of $19,000 through the Kickstarter website, which funds creative endeavors through public contributions.
