Warner Bros. moneyman renews contract

Chief financial officer Romano to continue through 2013

Ed Romano, Warner Bros. exec veep and chief financial officer, has renewed his contract through 2013.

WB chairman-CEO Barry Meyer made the announcement Thursday. Romano reports directly to Meyer, who agreed last month to remain in his post through the end of 2013.

Romano has served 16 years in his current position. He’s responsible for all fiscal activities, including financial reporting, budgeting and planning for future business growth along with management information services, studio facilities and corporate real estate.

“Ed is an incredibly strategic and prudent guardian of the company’s finances,” Meyer said in a statement. “He has seen the company through myriad changes in the way our businesses and industry operate, and his counsel has never failed us.”

Romano joined Warner Bros. in 1968 and has served as assistant treasurer, controller, veep and controller and senior veep and controller.
