Martin Sheen was at the Toronto Film Festival’s Filmmakers’ Lounge earlier today, doing a video interview (with his son director Emilio Estevez) with indiewire.
Sheen said that earlier today he joined the picket line in front of the Royal York hotel, where workers were holding a one-day strike, to show his support for workers’ rights.
After his interview, he went through the two-storey lounge and shooks hands with every orange-shirted volunteer as his handlers were trying to get him out the door to the preem of The Way (screening right now).
He said it was more important for him to thank the fest volunteers than to arrive at the red carpet on time!. I think he made everyone’s day here.
